shutterstock_11171122After your reflexology treatment you may feel thoroughly relaxed. You should experience calm and a feeling of well-being, as stress and tension are relieved and your circulation is improved leaving all the systems of your body functioning fully and in their natural state.

To gain maximum benefit from your treatment

Rest as much as possible avoiding energetic activity for a few hours.

Drink plenty of water to assist the elimination process.

It is possible that you may experience mildly one or more of the following symptoms:-

  • Muzzy head/headache
  • Frequent urination
  • Bowel movement
  • Emotional low
  • Excessive perspiration

Do not be discouraged  - these are positive signs

Why is this happening?

Your body is starting to take control of the healing process, working hard releasing stored and unwanted toxins into circulation. These toxins are then eliminated via the lungs, the skin, the bladder and the bowels.

How long do these symptoms last?

Just a few hours, or at the most one or two days.

Do remember:

  • Relaxation is a prerequisite of good health
  • Keep to a light diet
  • Contact your practitioner before your next treatment if you have any worries
  • Remember any reactions you may have whether good or adverse, and tell your practitioner at your next treatment

    Hi Karen,

Great post! I’ve just finished reading “Molecules of Emotion” by Candace Pert. In her conclusions, she very much recommended touch therapies for overall wellbeing, which is great coming from a scientist! Since reading this book, I’m now even more open to really listening to my body. Your blog is brilliant for that!
